Private ownership, clear accountability.
Governance & Ethics
Odegard Group is privately held. Ownership and oversight sit with the group, and each holding is led by its own management, accountable for its results and for its conduct.
Private ownership is a governance choice. It means the group's companies answer to a long-term owner rather than to public markets, and it is what allows them to invest patiently, keep their standards, and plan in decades.
The group's companies deal plainly with readers, customers, partners, and each other. Commitments made are commitments kept.
The group's news and editorial titles make their own editorial decisions. Ownership does not direct coverage, and no holding's journalism is for sale.
The group collects as little personal data as it can, publishes none of it, and expects the same discipline from every holding.
No holding is stripped, starved, or traded for a short-term gain at the expense of its standing. What the group owns, it intends to be proud of in twenty years.
