Acquire and build. Hold. Compound.
Business Model
Odegard Group acquires and builds companies it intends to own indefinitely. It is not a fund, and its holdings are not positions to be traded.
Each holding operates in its own market and earns its own revenue: an investment and stewardship firm in Geneva, energy interests in Norway, a steel sourcing and trading company, a publisher of local news titles, a Swiss luxury publishing group, and a publisher of digital magazines.
The group's role is ownership. It provides capital discipline, patience, and a shared standard, and it reinvests in its holdings so they can grow stronger in their own markets. Because the owner never needs to sell, the holdings never need to perform for an exit.
The result the model is built to produce is compounding: companies that get a little stronger, a little more trusted, and a little more valuable every year, for decades.
